Grazie a una super insegnate, Barbara Innocenti, biologa e mamma che ha vissuto per oltre 20 anni negli Stati Uniti andremo alla scoperta dei segreti delle Marche… in inglese! Come un viaggiatore spaziale che va sulla Luna e ritorna sulla Terra con un sacco di cose da raccontare così anche Barbara è tornata nelle Marche dopo aver scoperto tante cose negli States e ora vuole condividerle con te. Sei pronto per questa entusiasmante avventura? Allora preparati, in questa prima puntata andremo sul monte Conero per fare un viaggio nel tempo di “solo” 90 milioni di anni!

Qual è il vostro supereroe favorito? Quale è il superpotere che vorreste possedere? Vi siete mai chiesti se quel potere sia davvero frutto di pura fantasia o se invece sia stato ispirato da talenti naturali posseduti da piante e animali? Questi stessi poteri potrebbero ispirare l’uomo per migliorare le sue condizioni di vita o quelle del pianeta che ha deturpato? Se cercate risposte a queste domande visitate la mostra ‘Super- Natural’, organizzata dal Museo delle Scienze di Camerino, presso gli Antichi Forni di Macerata.

SUPER-NATURAL

What is your favorite super-hero? Do you know everything about his/her own super-powers? Do you know that these fantastic super-powers have been actually inspired by real animals’ and plants’ powers? Do you know that those same powers are inspiring the technological progress of our era? No matter your answer, you must see the new exhibit ‘Super-Natural’, held at the Antichi Forni in Macerata, from May 31st to June 15th.

You will find out who is ‘the Hulk’ of the animal kingdom and what ‘the Invisible Woman’ has in common with the larval form of the moth Hemeroplanes triptolemus.

You will have the possibility to compare your jumping abilities to those of other animals and you will discover the additional senses that animals possess beside sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch that humans share with them.  You will discover how modern science, looking into the physical endowment of the best runners and swimmers of the animal kingdom, contributes to the creation of legends of modern sports, such as Usain Bolt and Oscar Pistorius.
You will be introduced to Biomimicry, the innovative approach to solving human problems or human-created problems based on emulation of forms, materials, strategies that nature has already perfected and selected over million years of evolution. The exhibit showcases a few live animals too, former inhabitants of the Museum of Sciences in Camerino that has been closed after the earthquake. The exhibit becomes then an example of empowerment by the staff of the museum that, instead of interrupting their activities, decided to serve the community organizing touring exhibits hosted by schools and public places. Regarding this, the public will have the possibility to contribute to the project ‘Un Ducato per il Ducato’ aimed to purchase a van that will help the museum to move the exhibit from place to place.
